Focus on basics in search for win
We have more skill than power, but we've watched plenty of chess action and that gave us a lot of insight into how to make the best of our abilities,
Most preparation talk is accompanied by a disclaimer - that fritz students might not play the powergame, but they will explore the widest range of 'basics' in chess as they attempt to better showing of last year.
Sleepy fritz students dream big
our team in the competition declined playing any practice games. Instead, we opted to have a rigorous session to "get into the groove".
Our mental preparation will remain the same as if we are playing the best team . We can't relax. Whoever you are playing, at the end of the day you are representing and you have to be at your best.
So we are thinking about what needs to be done, about the areas that we need to work. This is a big stage and all the best teams would have studied about their opponents," he says.
